Peace Café will provide nutritious, professionally-prepared meals, regardless of one's ability to pay, and will encourage and promote harmony among diverse neighbors.
Peace Café, where everyone can access healthy food and healing fellowship.
Periodically, we will host local singers, poets, writers and other entertainers. Local artists will be invited to display their art in the cafe, both on the walls and at occasional art shows.
Our menu will feature nutritious food for a healthy life.
Can't decide what to get for someone as a gift? How about a Peace Cafe gift card? Give the gift of great, fresh food and good health.
Peace Cafe is a pay what you can cafe. We are a diverse group of individuals bound together for the purpose of ensuring everyone has access to healthy food. Our food will be local, sustainable, and when we can, organic. Supporting local businesses is an important component of our concept.
The payment structure will guarantee that everyone can eat. We will have a suggested price for the meal. Those who can pay sometimes pay more. We welcome all who can only pay a partial amount. For our guests who cannot pay, we have the option of volunteering in the cafe for their meal. If that option is not feasible, we will offer tokens, paid for by generous donors.
Our cafe will be open to everyone. Our desire is to build community relations between all of our guests.
We intend to serve dinner. Depending on the location, we will serve lunch also. Our location and hours will be determined once we find a place to call our home.
The model for our cafe comes from the "One World Everybody Eats" organization based in Salt Lake City. Denise Cerreta started the first cafe in Salt Lake City, Utah. Today there are about 50 community cafes in the United States.
